she lost herself in his eyes, the bluest of blues. no one else's eyes
made her feel the way his did. when he took her hand into his, her heart
started to beat faster and she couldn't help but smile at the way he could control
her like that. she would do anything for him. he lead her down the sandy beach.
the sun was setting, the waves were gently rolling upon the shore, and she
thought that nothing could be better than this.
her head began to throb.
and she woke up.
silently in the night, she sat up, pulling her arm up to her head. she realized she
probably hit it on the bed frame.
while she was dreaming.
tears rolled down her light, freckled cheek. of course it was a dream. her mother forbidded
her to ever see him again. she couldn't love him, couldn't smile at him, couldn't be in his strong
arms when her world was crashing down.
but it was too late.
her love for him had already risen to undefeatable heights. what was she doing here in bed,
dreaming of the one she wanted to be with?
the digital clock flashed 2:37 in the morning. hurry.
she grabbed a change of clothes, stuffed them into a bag, and put on some tennis shoes.
scribbling on a piece of notebook paper, she hastily wrote,
"dear family, i love you all so very much. this is something i must do, though.
my love for joseph is calling me to him. i know you dissaprove, but i would do anything
for him. if i cannot love him here, i must go. i'm sorry."
she signed it and quietly ran out of the small, rural house.
it was still very dark out, but she ran along the old road.
up a hill, around a curve, into the night.
alone.
but not for long...
