Tyranny is never okay. Even if it's God exercising it.

I just act that way with any set of numbers, it's why I couldn't pass elementary algebra and had to take Quantitative Reasoning instead, which actually was more practical anyways. I usually just need things explained and simplified. It's not beyon...

I guess I just don't get why God couldn't have chosen everyone and now grace is opt out. I mean enough of our lives are filled with knowledge and choice of God or not that no man can go through life without accepting what is already there, or reje...

I guess I'm just not as okay with letting it be a mystery, or whatever. I do trust God, and that's why I can't really see how a world where elect and non elect (salvifically speaking) can exist, because I know God's heart for mankind, and Him allo...

Yes, that last part is what I believe, and it lines up with the Bible more. But here's the deal, if that is true, if Calvinism is true as you just described it. What is the point, meaning, and hope for the people who God foreknew would reject Him...

but according to Calvinists they have no real choice, it's like someone addicted to drugs being in a room full of drugs (no other room exists) and "having a choice"

One thing me and Zoe like to talk about is how we really like when people encourage us, and don't just tell us all the bad things, then leave. And we really like when people pray for us, and even offer a helping hand. So, while I cannot so much t...

Possibly, not sure, possibly it's cause most newly engaged or still dating couples have enough starry eyed dreaminess as it is about marriage they don't really need to add more to it, and need reality check... I guess the reality check can become...

"Can anybody tell me why so many people in the world have such a low view of marriage as to consider it more trouble than it’s worth?" I don't think anyone in here said it wasn't worth it... I do think that every single one could give just as ma...

What amazes me, and makes me glad that I'm marrying you is that you can look at that dizzying array of numbers and somehow simplify it so it doesn't give me a headache just looking at it anymore.

Think of it like this, you can go into marriage planning on living on love. But when you're neck deep in credit card bills, high insurance payments, two car payments, on your second mortgage, and you have two kids you weren't really prepared for, ...

I find myself blessed in that I have never really questioned whether Zoe loved me, she's said it, shown it, and lived it out in some incredible ways that blow me away. It's given me strength to do the same back. Anyways, I'm bout to head out to ...

Forgiveness and the willingness and ability to walk in it seems key too. You will hurt each other, and say things that you didn't mean (and sometimes do mean but feel guilty about later), you will annoy each other, and you will makes some really b...

Paul's conversion? Nope...she mentioned a Muslim man who had a similar encounter with God like Paul did and came to know Jesus because of reading about it. But she says at the end of her third paragraph "We have seen the hope of Abraham, Isaac, J...

Awesome post in the discussion of the RPGs and which ones to keep open. I agree with most of your points. In fact, my style or role playing is what you've described (writing an entire scene as though it were to contribute to a novel, developing my PC, the scene, and/or the plot).

My only disagreements would be these:
1. I limit myself to three or four active RPGs/Stories at any one time, but if I were to limit you to the same three - five, that would be wrong. What if your interests lay outside of the topics of those games/stories?
2. I'll not have anyone else developing my characters. I can write a page or two developing them and the plot, myself, without infringing on anyone else's right to develop their own PC.

Alas, there is an art to this style or role writing that I've done in the past, very successfully over the course of several years. I have a hard time explaining it and others have a hard time understanding it, but the fact remains that it makes for an awesome time of writing and very good story.

I think we've managed the same kind of thing in the Soldiers Of Fortune thread, which I created for this purpose, and I hope to continue in this style wherever we end up continuing our story.

It's good to see another role player who is a writer, and who can write in the midst of a role playing game. I hope you have found or will soon find the optimal outlet for the story within you, and depending on the genera and your sytle, I may even want to read your material, or participate in its writing (if you're still doing that). It was good to read your post, and I hope to see more from you in the future. Thanks!
