Most Calvinists will tell you that Peter wrote that to the church, talking about the church. I don't think I really agree with that, but I can sort of see where they're coming from. I don't know if there are people who have never heard of Jesus t...

That's not at all what I'm saying. Truly asking God to fill you and use you means that you are ready for anything and waiting on the Lord to answer your prayer. Also by natural I don't mean it feels usual and normal. I mean that it feels effortle...

I don't think that not praying for gifts means one is not eager for them. If a person is praying simply to be used by God in whatever way -God- sees fit, that is more than enough. Its surrendering one's life to God so that He can take it and fill ...

Personally I didn't feel that Ted had done something wrong with his post when I read it, but I think that's because I knew he wasn't trying to attack people who chose to go under that company. Still, I think I agree with Justin on this one and can...

There is a difference between killing an animal and animal cruelty. We also have to be careful that our culture doesn't skew our perspective on this. I see no problem with slaughtering and eating a dog, and in fact have done so before, but I know ...

I've only just discovered that we have a traditional Thai flood story. They believe that God made the earth, but that men were so wicked and detestable He couldn't stand it and had to start over. So he took the only three good men on the earth and...

I think the problem with both cessationism and sensationalism is that the focus is all on the seen and not the unseen. Both extremes are concerned with the temporal physical world and with what God does and does not do in it, rather than on the ev...

I think the point of Judaism is that God revealed himself in a special way through the Jewish people, writings, traditions, and ultimately through a Jewish man; Jesus the Christ. But while that revelation came through and to the Jews, it came also...

Whether they were middle eastern or not, there's something strange about three grown men taking that much of an interest in Santa. I'd definitely report it. I think you may be very surprised at the things adult Japanese tourists are interested in.

The Risk of Love

When we talk about love we don’t often think of the fact that one of the greatest facets of love is risk. Whenever you love someone you’re putting yourself on the line; and the more you love someone, the more of yourself you give them and the greater risk you take.

When we truly love one of two things are bound to happen at some point; either the person we love will do something to hurt us, or something will happen that takes that person from us in some capacity and we will be hurt. As long as… Continue

Great Encouragement and Deeper Pain

For some strange reason, seeing my mom open her eyes only seemed to deepen the ache that we’ve all been feeling. It makes us wonder just how much she can sense and hear. Is she in pain? Is she scared? Does she miss us when we leave or wonder where we are if we aren’t there? Could it be that our being there is causing her anxiety and keeping her from resting? How long will she be this way?

For me it was hard because she didn’t look at anything and her eyes just seemed sort of lifeless. She seeme… Continue

When the World is Shaken

For the first time that I can remember my life can actually be summed up in one word; waiting. My life is in a very strange and difficult to define place right now. Everything has been put on hold and one of the biggest things that has ever happened to me and my family can only be waited on. It seems wrong to do anything that is for some other future goal, and yet there really isn't anything I can do towards my mom waking up. Should I be preparing for going back to the states this summer? Could… Continue

Bugs, Birthdays, and Blessings all around!

Hey everyone,
Thank you all so much for praying for my trip! I want to tell you that God answered your prayers in wonderful ways. It was an awesome, awesome time and I don't think I've ever been so blessed by a trip before. As fun and joyful as the previous camps were, this one was even more amazing. I have so many great memories from this camp.

The kids at this place are my favorite in the entire world. Many of them are Burmese and refugees in Thailand. Several of the kids I talked to have one… Continue

I just read your full post about the accident and I just wanted to let you know that you and your family are in my prayers. Your last post honestly reduced me to tears, God is so great and its a miracle that you can still hold onto that faith during this time. I'm here if you ever need to talk or anything. Praying for you.

Hey, sorry Natter isn't working to well for me right now. Anywho about the 'typo' comment. My name is Michal and some people think that I forget the 'E' or that my name is pronounced Michelle or something crazy like that, lol. Or when they look at my name they automatically assume I'm a guy, lol. Oh well, it's happened my whole life, besides it makes introducing myself a whole lot more fun, hehe. =D

God Bless!!

That is great. You have already experienced more than most of us ever will. Your parents must be remarkable people and I know they are very proud of you. God bless you and your parents. You will be in my prayers!
