Well, is he or isn't he?

I know the Current Events forum tends to be the more politically oriented, but this topic doesn't really seem to me a current event so much as a discussion.
What are your thoughts on the video?
My first thought was that the maker of the video did a little quote-mining to make sure he got his preferred clips and that perhaps the president is not being fairly represented. My second thought was that it's not inherently a bad thing to have a Muslim for a president (for anyone who wants to go down that road: we have had far worse for presidents). My final thought was that if he is a Muslim, why is he hiding it?
What are your thoughts?
Is he a Muslim?
If you don't think he is, then how do you explain this trend of his? Surely it can't all be circumstantial. What other explanation could there be?
If you do think he is, then why the ruse? Do you think he will ever "come out"?

Did you know that Mohammad called Alexander the Great a prophet of Allah? You know, because Aristotle, Alexander the Great's mentor and childhood teacher, was really a monotheistic scribe, and Alexander the Great wasn't a philandering, polytheistic conqueror who probably died from an STD. Oh, wait. I guess his redeeming quality was that he followed the sun to the end of the earth and watched it settle into a simmering pond for the night.

I'm interested in what Ted's book has to say about Islam. Anyone know anything about it? Other than the title, I don't really know anything. Does it address the issue of Obama and his involvement with Islam?

Of course he is doing a terrible job in other ways... that is not the point.
I think one's belief system is the most important characteristic of a person. It is not an illegitimate issue. It is THE issue.
While America claims to have freedom of religion, that doesn't mean Americans should elect one who doesn't do God's will. You have the freedom to worship the Giant Spaghetti Monster, but the fact that you do so makes me question your ability to lead my country, and I will not vote for you.

There is a lot I could say, but, for the sake of peace, I’ll hold back. Suffice it to say that I do not have the ability to look into another person’s heart and judge their relationship with God. I don’t believe anyone can. Therefore, I’m not going to judge President Obama’s leadership based upon my assumptions of his spiritual condition, and especially not on the basis of this video.
Just as Spy stated, I don’t believe he is a Muslim. In fact, I will go one step further and say that I accept his claim that he is a Christian. However, he is the President of ALL Americans, including Muslims. I would expect him to reach out to them, which is what I believe he is doing in these video segments. I don’t think it is a bad thing at all.

While I do believe that it matters what the President is or is not... I think it matters much much more what he does or does not do.

I understand your point, Loxen, but he isn't addressing Muslims at all, save for perhaps the clips from an address to Iran.
